Larry John Malone, age 72, of Mannington, passed away on March 27, 2026 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born March 14, 1954 in Seckenheim, Germany, a son of Kitty Ursula Malone of Farmington and the late John Malone.
Larry is lovingly remembered by his devoted partner of 28 years, Sheila Haddix Higgins, his mother Kitty Malone, two brothers, Danny (Wendy) Malone and David (Jacklyn) Malone, and his sister Kathy Malone.
Larry’s legacy continues through his two daughters Regina (Anthony) Fluharty and Sabrina (James) Fowler and his children’s mother Jan Lanham. He was a proud grandfather to Jordan Dray, Adriauna Dray, Layla Fluharty, Jesse Fowler, Evan Fowler, and Vivian Fowler, all of whom brought him great joy, his two nieces, Jessica (Xander) Chiniewicz and their children James and Ryan, and Bethany (Zack) Henderson.
In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his son, Larry Michael Malone.
Larry was a well-known business owner in the Mannington community. He owned and operated Malone’s General Store for several years, ran the local bar “Kick-A-Little” and was part owner of Malone’s Furniture. Through his work, he built lasting relationships and left a meaningful mark on those that knew him.
A dedicated member of the Mannington Elks for 17 years, Larry loved playing the machines, as well as antique cars, yard sales, auctions and getting good deals. His presence will be deeply missed but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all that knew him.
There will be no funeral home services as direct cremation has been chosen as the final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been places in care of the final arrangements.
