Lawrence Terry Parker, 76, of Mannington was called home by God in His Mercy on July 2, 2019 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. God decided Terry didn’t need to suffer from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was born April 12, 1943 at Mannington, a son of the late Lawrence Dale and Goldie Mae Scott Parker.

Terry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucille Higgins Parker, whom he married on April 25, 1970; two daughters, Lorie Parker of Vernal, Utah and Lisa Parker and significant other Mike McCoy Jr. of Mannington; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; 3 brothers, Gary Dale Parker, Benny David (Linda K.) Parker, and Richard Allan Parker; 2 sisters, Nancy (Donald) Tennant and Debora Aileen Parker, all of Mannington; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Higgins of Mannington; brother-in –law, Robert (Burnetta) Higgins of Plum Run; brother-in-law, Harry Paul Asher of San Antonio, TX; and sister-in-law, Delene Higgins of Metz.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Joan Parker and his brother John Eugene Parker who died in infancy.

Terry was formerly employed at the Fairmont Box Company and Higgins and Sons where he worked for 22 years, having retired in 2008. He was a Veteran of the US Navy, having served on the US Saratoga from 1964-1970. He was an active member of the Blackshere Chapel Church on Mohans Run where he was a Sunday School teacher and served as District Superintendent for 20 years. He loved collecting Corvair cars and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Family and friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 2-4:00pm and 6-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 11:00am with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at The Dudley Cemetery on Flat Run. I will surely miss my big Brother but I wouldn't have him back when he can walk with Jesus-- fully restored and alive like never before!
