Lois Virginia Ashley Batson Rucker, 77 of Drakes Run, Mannington, WV passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at her residence. She was born June 12, 1936, at Seven Pines, WV, a daughter of the late William and Ethel Willis Ashley.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Tamela Madey of Drakes Run, Connie Robinson of Monongah and Lisa Sager of Marion, IL; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Ashley and wife Helen of Mannington; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Batson; 3 children, Brenda Parker, Mark Ashley and Jeff Batson; 3 brothers, Mason Ashley, Richard Ashley and Rex Ashley; 4 sisters, Lilly Ashcraft, Betty Fisher, Wanda Brownfield and Helen Ashley, who passed in infancy.
Lois worked at the Bacova Guild Rug Factory in Hot Springs, Virginia. She formerly worked at the Drapery Factory in Mannington, as well as the Perdue Chicken Factory in Covington, Virginia. She enjoyed sewing and made several quilts. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Metz.
Family and Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Roth officiating.
