Lucy Brand, 95 of Mannington, WV passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at her home. She was born September 30, 1915 in Marion County, a daughter of Cora Del Glover Linville and Lewis David Linville. She great up on Grays Run, near Rachel until June 23, 1951 when she married John C. Brand
She is survived by her daughter, Cora Jean Brand Allan, and son-in-law, Ronald D. Allan, Sr.; five grandchildren, Rebecca Jean Allan Stout and husband Clarence of Farmington, R.D. Allan and wife Janet of Mannington, John Allan and wife Erin of Raymond, Mississippi, Ethan Allan and wife Lauren of Mannington and Justin Allan at home; four great-grandchildren, John Randall Craw, Alex Allan, and Wesley Allan, all of Mannington and Seth Allan of Raymond, Mississippi; several nephews and one niece.
Lucy was the last member of her family, having been preceded in death by her husband, John C. Brand on July 4, 1983. Her siblings were, Carl Edgar Linville, Nettie Linville Matthews, Fannie Linville Petry, Orvil Ray Linville, Clarence Linville, Kate Linville and Rosa Lee Linville.
Lucy was employed at Fairmont Box before she was married and then became a homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Mannington and Joetown congregations of the Church of Christ. She was a graduate of the Class of 1934 from Farmington High School. She enjoyed, when she was able, camping, traveling and reading. Her family was her life and she really enjoyed those times with her family.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at the Viewpoint Cemetery in Rachel.
