Lucy Moore

to

Lucy Eugenia “Toots” Moore, 80 of Fairmont, formerly of Mannington, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 17, 2012, following a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends at Pierpont Genesis, formerly Wishing Well Manor.  She was born November 23, 1931 to the late French Everett and Ivory Delota Marstiller.

Lucy was a lifelong member of the Mannington Church of the Nazarene, where she worked in the Nursery, watching many children grow up.  She assisted at the Mannington Senior Center for many years and was an avid patron of the Marion County Transit Authority.  She took many trips to area malls and shopping centers, while known to be visiting Hank’s Deli in Fairmont for her daily cup of coffee.  She loved her overnight stays with her granddaughter and her three great-grandchildren before residing at Pierpont.  While at Pierpont, she enjoyed listening to music, attending church, and playing bingo with the friends she made while at the facility.  She was a member of the Red Hatters of Mannington.

Lucy leaves behind a daughter and husband, Wanda and Michael Tobrey of Worthington; a granddaughter and husband, Tonya and Joey Brand of Fairmont; a grandson and wife, Chet and Liz Tobrey of Fairmont; four great-grandchildren, Cody, Xander, and Abbie Brand, and Isla Tobrey, all of Fairmont.  Also surviving are two brothers, Charles Marstiller of Carolina, and Robert Marstiller and wife Johnene of Mt. Crawford, VA; two sisters, Rebecca Hartzell of Mannington and Sylvia Sterling and husband Carl of Pickerington, OH; a sister-in-law, Connie Marstiller of Mannington; a daughter-in-law, Christine Moore of Dartmoor, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with her parents in Heaven, Lucy joins her husband, Charles Dallas Moore; their sons, Terry Wayne and Mark Alan Moore; two brothers, Brady and Richard “Scratch” Marstiller; brother-in-law, Richard Hartzell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence H. and Georgia M. Shrader Moore; and a sister-in-law, Linda Marstiller.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her friends at Pierpont for the continued love and support, and Hospice (Marci and Leah) for the care given in our time of need.

Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV, on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 2-9 P.M.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Dooley officiating.  Immediately following, she will be laid to rest at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.  On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com.

So sorry to read about Lucy. Always enjoyed waiting on her when I worked at sns. We always had a good laugh together. She would forget to get a juice to go with her lunch and I had fun picking out something she may like, something different many times. We called her "turtle" she was slow and easy moving and I would just motion for the other customers to get in another line. She brought a smile to my face every time. I was sad when she had to go to the nursing home but happy I did get to visit her there a few times. She is missed.

We miss Lucy on the Transit bus. She was sharp and funny and spoke her mind. The bus drivers liked her and asked about her often after she left. Lucy was one of a kind.
