Lulu Belle Hixenbaugh, age 84 of Fairmont, WV passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center in Fairmont. She was born October 18, 1936 in Mannington, WV, a daughter of the late Howard Goodnight and Mildred Hayes Goodnight.

She is survived by 5 children, Thomas (Karen) Hixenbaugh of Barrackville, Stephen (Connie) Hixenbaugh of Bunners Ridge, Sheryl Hixenbaugh of Fairmont, Randy (Darla) Hixenbaugh of Fairmont, and Karen (Ralph) Ridenour of Farmington; 16 grandchild, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; 2 siblings, Sheila Goodnight of Mocksville, NC and Dean Goodnight of Mooresville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lulu Belle was preceded in death by her husband Thomas V. Hixenbaugh who died August 25, 2011; a daughter, Patricia Hixenbaugh: three brothers, Arthur, Glenn and Lindy Goodnight; and one sister, Nora Martin.

Lulu Belle was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and refurbishing and restoring furniture. She was a member of the Willow Tree Baptist Church.

A special Thank You is extended to the John Manchin Sr. Health Care staff and employees as well as the nurses and staff at Amedysis.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 11:00am to 12:00pm with funeral services beginning at 12:00pm with Pastor Bill Coon officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, WV. As we continue to recognize attending services during the COVID-19 situation may not be in the best interest for some, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. I was so sorry to hear about Lulu Belle’s passing. She was such a wonderful lady, always smiling. My prayers for the family. I am glad I had the privilege of helping care for her at John Manchin.
