Marian Melrose George, 83 of Mannington, WV passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Fairmont General Hospital. She was born October 18, 1929, in Flat Run, WV, a daughter of the late Israel Francis Thomas and Lilly Sargeant Thomas.
She is survived by one son, Tom George and wife Vicki of Mannington; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Neil George who died February 7, 1995; one daughter, Brenda Schunatz; 2 grandchildren; 5 sisters, Peg Longstreth, Mary Roupe, Eva Grubb, Nita Spears and Betty Harper; 2 brothers, Chester Thomas and Isreal Francis Thomas Jr., who died in infancy.
Marian enjoyed being outside but had been confined to her home the last three years. A Special Thank You to her caregiver, Vicki Gray George.
There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral services. Per the wishes of Mrs. George, cremation was chosen as her final disposition. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Masters Funeral Home. Bless her heart, she was a sweet and loving lady. I have many fond memories of her and Uncle Neil. They must be having quite a get-together about now.

Ahhhh I will miss Aunt Rosie! SHe was my birthday buddy and now they will never be the same again! She is now sitting on a porch swing with my grandma now (marquitta Banick) Enjoy heaven and I will see you all again one day!
