Martha Marie “Peg” Batson, 62 of Mohans Run, Mannington, WV passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at United Hospital Center. She was born September 26, 1948 at States Fork, Metz, a daughter of the late James and Nellie Simpson Price.
She is survived by her children, Brian Batson and wife Donna of Grafton, WV, Jennifer Batson and companion Roger Ervin II of Philippi and Leslie Marie Batson of Mannington; grandchildren, Maria Batson and Shane Batson; 3 sisters, Freda Villers of Mannington, Nancy Hanning and husband Lewis of Mannington and Linda Wade and husband Robert of McMechen, WV; 3 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Eugene Batson; daughter, Peggy Lynn Batson; brother, Chester Simpson.
Martha enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She loved spending time with grandchildren. She also loved gardening and her pets. She graduated from Mannington High School. She was formerly employed at the Blackshere Drive-In and Decorator Industries.
The children would like to give special Thanks to Aunt Pug, Aunt Sis and Uncle Junior for the care given to their mother.
Friends and Family may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 2:30-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Ed Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
