Mary Lou Edgell

Mary Lou Jane Edgell, 85 of Smithfield, WV passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Fairmont General Hospital.  She was born October 13, 1925 at Pricetown, a daughter of the late Walter Smith Barker and Sara Ola Haught Barker.

She is survived by seven children, Shirley Stout of Smithfield, Carl Leroy Edgell and wife Rose of Smithfield, Roger Lee Edgell, Sr. and wife Kathy of Pine Grove, Sarah Fletcher of Baltimore, MD, Myralene Adams and husband Douglas of Lincolnton, NC, Jeffery Allen Edgell of Smithfield and Roger Lee Edgell, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Worthington; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Otis Samuel Edgell, who passed away on October 22, 1985, and one son, Otis Samuel Edgell, Jr.

Mary Lou enjoyed quilting and sewing.  She also enjoyed watching television.

At the request of the deceased, cremation will be the method of final disposition.  Inurnment will be as the convenience of the family.  Mrs. Edgell will be laid to rest at the Pricetown Cemetery beside her husband.  Masters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  On-line condolences may be left for the family at mastersfuneralhomewv.com.

All of us at Alfred Construction would like to express our deepest sympathy to Allen Edgell and all of his family in the loss of his mother. We never got to meet her, but have know Allen for several years and he is a good man and he loved his mother very much. We know this will be a difficult time for all of the family and just want them to know we will keep Allen and all of the family in out thoughts and prayers.
