Mary Ellen Ashcraft McCann, 57 of Fairview, WV, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at her residence. She was born May 26, 1957 at New Cumberland, WV, a daughter of the late Gerald Rawson and Doris Bell Rawson.
She is survived by her husband, Robert McCann of Fairview, WV; a daughter, Rebecca Marie Hall and husband Bobby of Rachel; a granddaughter, Shayla Allen of Rachel; a son, James Patrick “JP” Ashcraft, Jr. of Fairview; 2 stepsons, Mark McCann of Harrisonburg, VA and Timmy McCann of Fairview, WV; a stepdaughter, Donna Davis and husband Steve of Logansport; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; one brother and his fiancée, John Rawson and Diane Weaver of Daybrook, WV; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Rawson, and 2 brothers, Jerry Rawson and Larry Rawson.
Mary was formerly employed at Marion Health Care and also the Fairmont Senior Center. She worked in Home Health Care for Tom Metz. She enjoyed going on road trips and seeing animals and the countryside. She also enjoyed spending time with her family very much.
Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 6-9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Randy Taylor officiating. I am really sorry that I did not get to come to see you all at the funeral home. I had a prior commitment before I knew what the arrangements were. My sincere sympathy is with all of you at this difficult time. I will always remember Mary as a wonderful person, good neighbor and friend, and I feel fortunate to have known her.
