Mary Elizabeth Sturm, 79 of Metz, WV, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Fairmont General Hospital in Fairmont, WV. She was born December 25, 1932 in Marion County, WV a daughter of the late Robert Harvey Santee and Lucy Beatrice Mitchell Santee.

She is survived by four children, James Sturm and wife Kay of Metz, WV, Rhonda “Shelly” Dean and husband Dan of Metz, WV, Darletta Jefferson and husband Willie of Morgantown, WV, and Lynn Sturm of Mannington, WV; 7 grandchildren, Joshua Sturm of Ripley, WV, Cathy Straight of Metz, WV, Elijah Dean of Metz, WV, Isaiah Jefferson of Pensacola, FL, Zachary Jefferson of Melbourne, FL, Seth Sturm of Metz, and Mari Sturm, Metz, WV; 7 great-grandchildren, Collin Morgan of Metz, Cadence, Aubrey and Madison Straight of Metz, Ezra Dean of Metz, and Addison and Dylan Sturm of Fairmont; one brother, John Santee and wife Iolene of Fairview, WV.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 59 ½ years, James “Jim” Sturm; one daughter, Deborah Kyleen Sturm; one grandson, Cassidy Luke Sturm; 5 sisters, Anna Hibbs, Mildred Kuhn, Nola Haught, Lucy Wright and Jeanie Haught; 5 brothers, Sterling, Roger, Paul, Robert and Leonard Santee.

Mary worked at Decorators Inc. for 10 years and then Mannington TV Inc. until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, traveling and doing puzzles.

Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 3 - 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Evangelist Norman Floyd of Mount Nebo Church of Christ officiating.  Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com

Seth, Mari, and Collin:

So sorry to hear about your Grandma Mary. I know how much.you loved her. I am proud that you spent so much time with her. You took her on her last beach trip that she wanted so much. You went to the Amish Country with her at Christmas. You did everything you could to make her happy and keep her company. Your Papa Jim would be proud too.
