Melvin “Dwight” Price, age 84 of Fairview, WV passed away peacefully from this life into the loving arms of the Lord on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born December 16, 1939 in Mannington, WV a son of the late Joseph Price and Goldie Haught Price.

He is survived by his two children, Jeffrey A. (Melissa) Price of Grafton and Tricia A. (Duane) Parker of Fairview, and 5 grandchildren, Jeremiah Price, Jordan Sebastian Dixon, Holly Clelland and fiancé Brandon Canfield, Justin Clelland and Jacob Parker. Dwight is also survived by three step-children, Missy (Steve) Mohr, and Tommy (Brie) Floyd, 4 step-grandchildren, Bailey Mohr, Sydney Mohr, Delaney Anderson and Sevie Floyd, two sisters, Mary Wiggins of Parkersburg and Ruth Dye of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dwight was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Ann Price who died April 5, 1993 and his second wife Sarah Floyd Price, 5 brothers, Charles, Lester, Orville, Sonny and Blaine Price, and two sisters, Edith Swaney and Lillian Toothman.

Dwight was a Christian by Faith and a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He collected antiques, worked on his lawn and enjoyed doing puzzles. He was a member of the UMWA having worked at Loveridge Mine for 20 years and was skilled in HVAC. Dwight helped construct Prickets Fort, enjoyed working on the farm, and loved spending time with family, children and grandchildren. He was great yet humble man who exemplified the best characteristics of a Godly human spirit!

There will be no funeral home services as cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prickets Fort in Fairmont as well as to the L.W. Paul Living History Farm, 2279 Harris Short Cut Rd., Conway, SC 29526. Final arrangements are being cared for by Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV.
