Mike and I met in second grade at Wadestown Elementary and became best friends. We were pretty much inseparable throughout our years at Wadestown and Clay Battelle. One of the greatest memories outside of school was to go rabbit hunting with Mike and his beagle Pete. So glad I got to see him at our 50th class reunion this year. So uplifting to read that he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church! Just to know our next reunion will be in heaven!

Sad to hear this! Mike was a great person and friend. I first met Mike 40 years ago thru my Uncle Roger. We were trout fishing. He called me Opie and I called him Aunt Bee. I can still see him laughing about it. Rest in peace my friend!

Mike and I had our season and I have such great memories with him. His humor and laughter were contagious but his love of God was his shining star. He was raised in such a wonderful family and great values instilled early that carried with him through life. So glad I got to know him and will see him again some day.

Someone told me recently that you were a gentle giant, strong but with a gentle soul. That’s how I’ll always remember you. Through the hardest times, you always kept that sense of humor. You were someone that I admired for your strength and caring through the good times and the bad. I will miss you. RIP until we meet again.

Daddy...you've made an impact on so many. I've received the phone calls, the messages and the visits from so many in this community and beyond. They've told me how much you were proud of me and loved me so much. I'll keep that with me forever. You always made it known to me but it makes me feel so good that you made it know to others. Always your little girl ❤️
