
Nancy Lou Goodnight, age 79, of Mannington, WV passed away on August 5, 2023, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born on March 1, 1944, in Farmington, WV, daughter of the late Michael P. McCulloch and Ruth Snoderly McCulloch.
She is survived by her two children, Cyndi (Brian) Townsend, of Farmington, WV, and Tom (Megan) Goodnight Jr., of Morgantown, WV. Her five grandchildren, Jordan (Billy) Miller, Peydan McVicker, Jacob, Tyler and McKinlee Goodnight; Her two great-grandchildren, Maxon and Maddyn Miller, who brought a light to her eyes. She is also survived by her loving sister and neighbor, Carol (Woody) Malcolm and special nieces, Melissa (Larry) Martin and Mindy (Matt) Myers; great nephew Logan (Kaitlyn) Abel; and great niece Morgan Myers.
Her extended family encompassed several members of the Goodnight family including sister-in-law, Helen Mae (Arthur) Kim, brother-in-law, Robert N. (Charieta) Goodnight; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Stephanie Goodnight. Several lifelong friends also survive Nancy: Ruth Ann Morgan, Bobbi Mohrman and Sharon Efaw.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Goodnight, who has been waiting for her in Heaven since 2008; and a sister Mary Sue McCulloch Schmuck
Nancy graduated from Barrackville High School, Class of 1962. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. She held various positions throughout her working years, but her most accomplished job was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
The Family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Oncology Team at WVU Medicine and WVU Hospice, especially Jacob, Tricia, Marissa and Carrie. We could not have gotten through this without their care and guidance.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 2-7:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 7:00pm with Tom Myers officiating. Per Nancy’s request, cremation will follow as the final disposition. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to WVU Hospice.
