Nellie Gallo, 92 of Mannington, WV passed away, Monday, July 18, 2011 at her residence. She was born November 27, 1918 in Herminie, PA a daughter of the late Guiseppi Zecchini and Maria Venterelli Zecchini.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn McSorley of Mannington; 2 grandchildren, Thomas McSorley of Mannington and Kelly Jo McSorley of South Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Krystal McSorley and Joe Jessen; one great-great-grandchild, Levi Hendershot; one brother, Louis Zecchini of Frank, PA and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gallo and three brothers, Aldo, Lawrence and Raymond Zecchini.
Nellie was a member of the Elks Lodge #388 in Mannington. She enjoyed playing Bingo. She was the secretary of Elizabeth Township, PA. She was the first woman police officer in Elizabeth Township, PA.
There will be no funeral home visitation or services. At Mrs. Gallo’s request, cremation was chosen as her method of disposition. Online condolences may be left for the family at mastersfuneralhomewv.com.
