Nellie Stout

Nellie Marie Stout, 83 of Rachel, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 at The Heritage in Bridgeport, West Virginia.  She was born on December 10, 1928 at Philippi, WV, a daughter of the late Roscoe Paugh and Iva Whitehair Paugh.

She is survived by three children, John Stout of Virginia Beach, VA, Betty Moss and husband Joe of Hagerstown, MD and William “Bill” Stout and wife Candy of Rachel, WV; 7 grandchildren, Andrea Watts, Samantha Stout, Tonya Sandlin and husband Les, Ian Moss, Emma Moss, Tyler Blair and Lindsay Blair; 5 great-grandchildren, Kya Zimmer, Jackson Zimmer, Aria Stout, Lila Sandlin and Yvonne Blair; one sister, Mary Ann Wright of Fairmont; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Paugh of Fairmont and Gay Russell of Mannington; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband William Grant Stout in 2003, and by her brothers and sisters.

Nellie was known for her “Nellie Burger” and “Nellie Jelly”.  She enjoyed canning, and being the neighborhood mother for the kids who lived near her.

Family and Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 2-4:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Lee Bowman officiating.  Burial will follow at Viewpoint Cemetery in Rachel.
