Norman Thomas "Jinx" Cartright

   Norman Thomas “Jinx” Cartright, 85, of Mannington, formerly of Long Drain Rd., passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born January 25, 1933 at Mannington, a son of the late Fred “Deacon” Cartright and Elsie Starkey Cartright.

   Jinx is survived by his sister, Alberta Cartright Higgins, who had been by his side for several years, and brother-in-law Harold Higgins of Mannington and several nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by one brother Charles Leo Cartright and three sisters, Mary Greathouse, Betty Hornac and Helen Beaver.

   Jinx was formerly employed at the Marx Toy Factory in Moundsville and the Marion County Senior Citizens Center in Mannington.

   A special “Thank You” to Hospice and two very special caregivers, his nephews, Daniel Higgins and Bill Higgins of Mannington. He will be sadly missed by many friends in the Mannington area and especially his sister, Alberta.

   Family and friends may call on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 2-8 pm at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington. A graveside will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Huey-Thorne Cemetery with Evangelist Ron Allen officiating.
