Opal Marie Beaven, age 49 of Fairmont, WV passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. She was born March 27, 1973 a daughter of Hilda Marie Cremeens Scritchfield of Farmington and the late William Russell Scritchfield.
In addition to her mother, Opal is survived by her husband of 23 years, Scott Lee Beaven with whom she was married on November 7, 1998. She is also survived by two sisters, Julia King and husband John of Rachel and Billie Jean Scritchfield of Farmington; one brother, Carl Scritchfield of Moundsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Opal enjoyed crochet and crafts as well as playing cards. She was a former nurse’s aid at St. Barbara’s Nursing Home. She was also formerly employed at Deckers Board Care Facility, the Giant Eagle Deli, and as a cashier at Exxon Mobil on Saltwell Road.
There will be no visitation and funeral services as direct cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
