Phyllis Jean Riggs, age 88, of Mannington, WV passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center in Fairmont. She was born July 20, 1932 in Wetzel Co., WV, a daughter of the late Carl Edward Hostuttler and Lucy Olive Sapp Hostuttler.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Gary Lynn (Billie Jo) Riggs of Mannington; a son-in-law, Gary (Dianna) Pastorial of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Deanna (David) Cunningham of Hilliard, OH, Tom (Rachel) Pastorial of Fairmont, Scott Riggs and Jack Riggs, both of Mannington; six great-grandchildren, Alessandra Cunningham, Averie Cunningham, Makena Pastorial, Kylie Riggs, Alaina Riggs and Coleton Riggs; three brothers, Ray (Janice) Hostuttler of Knob Fork, Ronnie Hostuttler of Hundred, and Homer (Patty) Hostuttler of Knob Fork; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Jack Riggs; a daughter, Violet Jean Pastorial; one brother, Junior Hostuttler; and three sisters, Pearl White, Frances Gibbons, and Shirley Hostuttler.
Phyllis was a homemaker and a member of the Joe’s Run Church of Christ.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 11:00am with Evangelist Ron Allan officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. I am so sorry I couldn't attend. Phyllis and Jack were my grandparents neighbors, Robert and Velma Fink. I used to go over and Phyllis would play with me and let me play with the pool table in the basement; Jack would let me interact with the ponies. They're wonderful people; Godly people, and they will be missed. I visited Phyllis at Manchins' a couple of times and brought her fresh from the garden tomatoes to enjoy.
