Rex David Wright, age 66 of Fairview, WV passed away July 9, 2025 at his residence. He was born January 21, 1959 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Herbert Wright and Willa Jean Barr Wright.
He is survived by his son Jeremy Hixenbaugh of Fairmont, and his 6 siblings, Rodney and Lisa Wright of Mannington, Christine Wright of Mannington, Bobby and Samantha Wright of Worthington, Betty Hagerman of Pennsboro, Joshua Wright of Fairmont, and Jessica Wright of Fairmont. Rex is also survived by his sister-in-law Kathy Wright, several nieces and nephews, his close friends Sheryl Hixenbaugh, Vanessa “Sissy” Reger, and Crissy Pyles and the Pyles family, and his dog “Duke”.
In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death his brother Ricky Wright, his sister Ruth Ann Wright, paternal grandparents Goldie and Lloyd Wright, and maternal grandparents Mabel and Rex Barr.
Rex loved to hang out with friends around a bonfire, listen to music and drink a beer. He also liked to walk a lot around the town of Fairview.
There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral services as Rex’s final wishes were to be cremated. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
