   Rita Powell, 61, of Brink Hill, Mannington, passed away on September 16, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was born February 21, 1957 in Wetzel County, to the late Delbert and Betty (Rice) Teagarden.

   Rita was one of nine children and lived on Teagarden Fork in Hundred until she was fourteen years old. Her family then moved to Evans Run, Mannington. She was a Protestant by faith and loved spending time with her family and traveling. Her favorite place to go was the beach, which she was able to enjoy one last time this July.

   Rita was formerly employed at the Marion County Senior Center in Mannington, the Bucket Factory in Idamay and the Dollar General Store. She was a former poll worker for the Marion County Election Board.  

   Rita is survived by her husband of 41 years, Keith Powell of Brink Hill, Mannington, one daughter, Jessica (Chuck) Bryan of Mannington, one son, Lindsay Powell and companion Rebecca Burnheimer, of Bridgeport, and a close family friend she considered her son for many years, Seth Hixenbaugh and companion Nicole Harley of Brink Hill, Mannington. She had five granddaughters and three step-granddaughters that she lived her life around, Anna Bryan of Morgantown, Savanah, Alivia and Dakota Bryan of Mannington, Katelyn Powell of Morgantown, Rowan Burnheimer of Bridgeport, and Sienna and Lexi Hixenbaugh of Mannington.

   Also surviving are two brothers, Raymond (Vickie) Teagarden of Mannington, Delbert “Conley” Teagarden and companion Becky Higginbotham of Mannington, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Nancy (Powell) Wyckoff of Pine Grove and Mick and Beverly (Powell) Hickman of Morgantown.

   In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Geraldine (Glasscock) Powell, two sisters, Loretta (Teagarden) Hibbs and Ethel Teagarden, both formerly of Mannington. She also lost three infant sisters and one infant brother.

   The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 3-9 pm at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Evangelist Michael P. Reese officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
