Roger Dale Fluharty, 69, of Rachel, WV, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at West Virginia Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born November 6, 1944 at Mohan’s Run, WV, a son of the late Francis Fluharty and Bessie Starkey Fluharty.
Roger is survived by 3 daughters, Angel Closson and husband John of Fairmont, Beth Pruitte and husband Todd of Fairmont and Charity Moore and husband Breed of Fairmont; 10 grandchildren, Cameron, Abbagail, Mykayla, Jordan, Owen, Isabella, Breed, Bella, Kierra and Patience; siblings, Gary and Beverly Fluharty of Rachel, Joyce Fluharty of Mannington, Crystal Rowand and companion Robert “Buzz” Hillberry, Shiela Earl and husband Gary of Mannington and Allen Fluharty and companion Jan Triplett of Mannington; two brothers-in-law, Bob Jones of Mohans Run and Emerson Minor of Ohio; one sister-in-law, Sandy Fluharty of Virginia; former wife and mother of his children, Doris Stuckey of Missouri; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Arianna Moore; 2 sisters, Kay Jones and Sharon Minor; 2 brothers, Raymond Fluharty and Cecil Fluharty.
Roger was employed by CW Stickleys in Fairmont as a truck driver for many years. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Rachel Sportsman Club. Roger enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler, working in his garden, shooting his guns and hunting.
Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 2 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 17, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor Lee Bowman officiating. Full Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Navy and the Marion County Veterans Council. Burial will follow at Viewpoint Cemetery.
