Ronnie Mike Smith, age 79 of Mannington, WV passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at United Center Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born February 20, 1947 in Calcutta, Ohio, the son of the late Mathias Smith Sr. and Edra Givens Smith.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Smith of Mannington, his daughter Donna (Harry Jr.) Vaughan of Mannington, 11 grandchildren; Joshua (Katrina) Smith, Jonathan Burson, Nicholas (Shyann) Vaughan, Austin Vaughan, Tyler Ridgley, Troy Ridgley, Tanner Smith, Kayla Nelson, Destiny Smith, Jacob Smith, and Shane Smith; Paisley, Jaycie, Hemessy, Sophie, Therian, Alan, Carter, Allison, Avery, Aiden, Xaynea and Isiah; and one great-great-grandchild Kinsley. Ronnie is also survived by three siblings, Bonnie Orr of WV, Kathy Smith of Ohio, and David Orlen Smith of Ohio; several nieces and nephews including Vickey Hall, Bill Orr, Keith Orr, and Bonnie Sue.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie E. Smith and Jason K. Smith; a grandson Trevor Smith; a great-great-grandson Nicholas Vaughn Jr.; and three siblings, Rose Hall, Danny Smith, and Pat Owens.
Ronnie worked in the mines as an Electrician and did several odd jobs as well. He loved camping, hunting and fishing, spending time with his grandkids, going to conventions for the coal mines, watching the news, and mowing the grass with his tractor. He was good at making things and enjoyed working out and making pottery and painting it.
There will be no funeral services as cremation has been chosen as the final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
