Ronnie David Starkey, age 76, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born May 19, 1942 in Wetzel Co., WV, a son of the late Wilbert Francis Starkey and Pansy Mae Shuman Starkey.
He is survived by his wife, Kandy Snodgrass Starkey of Mannington, with whom he was married to for 36 years on June 12th; a daughter, Tauya Starkey of Warrior’s Fork; a son, Ronnie David Starkey II of McMechen, WV; 2 grandchildren, Ronnie David Starkey III and Kimberlie Starkey; 2 sisters, Rosemary and Sam Snodgrass of Rymer, and Kathy and Jay Dobbs of Waxhall, NC; one brother, Wilbert “Steve” Starkey of Rymer; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Clement Starkey; a brother, Drexal Wayne “Bud” Starkey; and two sisters, Wilma Wilson and Connie Hobson. Ronnie was a retired truck driver for UPS with 25 years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed singing and playing music with his family, and playing golf. Most of all, he loved his family very much. He was a member of the Rymer Methodist Church. Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00am conducted by Pastor Harry Holbert. Burial will be at the Mannington Memorial Park. Ronnie , I will miss you. I love you and I will miss our conversations. I greatly enjoyed them , your humbleness was a truly refreshing .I’m blessed and honored to have you as my brother (inlaw). You will be missed.
