Rosie (Rose) Pauline McCracken Ice, 85 of Mannington, WV passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at her residence. She was born August 23, 1926 at No. 9 Community, Farmington, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Harry Elmer and Jesse Myrtle Strope McCracken.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Ford of Mannington and her son, Fred Ice and wife Barbara of Crossroads, WV; two grandchildren, Richard Parsons and Alexandria Ravenel of Goose Creek, SC; great-grandchildren, Misty Dawn Ice, Christopher Ice and Amy of Mill Fall (Katy), WV, Logan Ice of Mt. Morris, WV and Aja Rose Parsons; one sister, Josephine “Feeney” Coughenour of Idamay.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Smith Ice on May 25, 1997; brothers and sisters, Jack McCracken, Pearl and husband Theodore Lahendro, Madge and Russell Coughenour, Betty and June Custer, Helen and Frank Pazdric; brother-in-law, LeRoy Coughenour and a son-in-law, Randall Parsons.
Rose was a member of the Mannington Church of Christ. She enjoyed camping, flowers, puzzles and reading.
At the request of Rose, the casket will remain closed.
Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WVon Tuesday January 24, 2012 from 2-4:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Dr. Michael P. Reese officiating. Burial will follow at the Viewpoint Cemetery.
