Russell Odell Heater, 56 of Enterprise, WV passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at Morgantown. He was born June 2, 1955 in Harrison County, WV a son of the late Offie and Nellie Bunnell Heater.
He is survived by his wife of ten years, Mary Carpenter Heater; one son, Robert "Bobby" Heater and wife Vanessa of Barrackville, WV; one grandson, Adam Robert Heater and one granddaughter, Carissa Darlene Heater, both of Barrackville, WV; two step-sons, Hearley (Chuck) McCoy Jr. and wife Serenna of Littleton, WV and Matthew McCoy of Enterprise; three step-daughters, Barbara Morrison and husband Paul of South Charleston, WV, Tina Hardesty of Fairmont and Gloria Griffith and husband Bill of Gypsy; nine step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild.
He is also survived by three brothers, Roger Heater of Shinnston, Ruck Heater and wife Jackie of Lumberport and Roy Heater of Shinnston; five sisters, Geneva LeMasters of Drain Hill, Dottie Long and husband Frank of Willard, Rosemary Arbogast of Stonewood , Patty Layfield and husband Richard of Lamberts Run and Juanita Newbough of Shinnston; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Louis Carpenter of Mannington, WV; brother-in-law, Louis Carpenter Jr.; a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law, Bill and Diana Kranich of Sharpsville.
Mr. Heater leaves behind his canine companions, his little buddy "Patches" and his lab "Lady". Russell worked construction his entire life and owned his own company. He was well known in the community and surrounding areas. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Enterprise.
