Sandra Sue Buswink, age 76 of Shinnston, WV passed away on September 25, 2025 at the Sisters Elder Care in Shinnston, WV. She was born March 17, 1949 in Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late Claude Ernest Craig and Mildred Lorene Groves Parrish.
She is survived by her step-daughter whom she treated as a daughter, Carin Sundell of San Antonio, TX, two nieces, Lorene (Jerrold) Berkes of Hutchinson, KS and Kathy (Clinton) Ashley of Fairmont, WV, her nephew James (Rondi) Rigsby of Mannington, WV, two grandchildren in San Antonio, TX and many other nieces and nephews. Sandra is also survived by three siblings, Judy Parsons, Gregory Craig, and Patricia (Keith) Burrows, all of Fairmont, WV, her Aunt Lilian Anderson of Fairmont, WV, a cousin who was more like a sister, Tamra (John) Holt of Fairmont, WV, and numerous other family members.
Sandra was a Baptist by Faith and baptized July 25, 2021 at Everson Baptist Church where she was a longtime member. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to the Moose Lodge with her brother Garry in Mannington and play tip jars She joined the United States Air Force on August 18, 1967 and retired August 31, 1989 as a Senior Master Sargent and then worked for Fire Troll Holdings in Management throughout the United States until she moved back to West Virginia where she resided her last two and half years with Sisters Elder Care in Shinnston, WV where she received the most wonderful care and love! The family would like to express a special Thank You to all of the staff as well as Amedisys Hospice Care in Clarksburg for their wonderful care of Sandra.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband James Joseph Buswink with whom she married March 23, 1979 until his passing in February of 2022, two siblings, Betty Lou (Eddy) Smith and Garry (Charlotte) Craig, and her brother-in-law Dana Parsons.
Family and friends are invited to attend a inurnment for Sandra at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, West Virginia on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 beginning at 11:00am where Full Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Air Force as well as the Marion County Veterans Council. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Everson Baptist Church in memory of Sandra. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
