Sarah Moore

Sarah Gertrude “Gertie” Moore, 93 of Fairmont and formerly of Mannington, WV passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Fairmont General Hospital.  She was born May 28, 1920, at Salt Lick, WV, a daughter of the late Charles E. Brummage and Margaret Looman Brummage.

 

She is survived by her four children, Georgia Aloi and husband Sam of Fairmont, Leo Moore and wife Alice of Mannington, Charles E. Moore and wife Vic of Mannington and Joyce Moore of Mannington; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, Gertie was preceded in death by her husband Francis Benjamin Moore, who died July 22, 1973; a son, Kenneth Moore; a daughter, Martha Moore; a granddaughter, Tammy Moore; two sisters, Alice Moore and Grace Renner.

 

Gertie was a member of the Nazarene Church in Mannington.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Woodman of the World.  She had worked at Westinghouse early in her life.  She loved animals, watching football and working crossword puzzles.

 

The family would like to thank two special nieces, Wanda Tobrey and Thelma Freeman for all the help, and also to Hospice Care of Fairmont for all their love, care and support during their mother’s illness.

 

There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral service.  On Saturday, August 3, 2013, everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home parking area at 12:30 p.m. to leave in procession to Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery for graveside services which will begin at 1:00 p.m.  On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com
