Susan Louise Mitchell Straight, age 68, of Fairmont, WV and formerly of Metz, WV went to be with the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 surrounded by her three daughters. She was born January 18, 1955 in Fort Meade, MD a daughter of the late Francis Earl Mitchell and Patricia Ann Jones Mitchell.
Susan is survived by her three daughters, Rhonda (Eric) Moyers of Ashland, KY, Sandy (Joseph) Riggs of Mannington, and Theresa (Mike) Longwell of Farmington, 7 grandchildren, Josh (Alex) Riggs, William Riggs, Brianna (Spenser) Stiles, Tristen Moyers, Anthony Longwell, Seth Moyers and Marshall (Megan) Longwell, and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 6 siblings, Francis “Junior” Mitchell Jr., Alan Mitchell, Victor Mitchell, Joann Charlotte Vincent, James Mitchell and Kenny Mitchell, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by one brother Richard Mitchell
Susan was a Baptist by faith and a member of the Glovers Gap Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her side-kick “Little Bit”. She was a bartender at Sidetracks and the VFW for several years and also an aide at Arbors.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, March 12, 2023 beginning at 1:00pm with Pastor David Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Longwell Cemetery in Farmington.
