Sylvia Jean Toothman, age 79 of Mannington, WV passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Mon Marion Neighborhood Hospital in White Hall. She was born August 11, 1942 in Pricetown, WV, daughter of the late Allen Albert “Mike” Wood and Margaret Smith Wood. Sylvia was also preceded in death by her husband Denzil Toothman and 5 siblings, Robert Dean Wood, Joseph Allen Wood, Nicholas Earl Wood, Richard Allen “Dickie” Wood and Judith Lee Lynch.
Sylvia is survived by six siblings, Barbara (Roger) Rose-Chadwell of Mannington, Liza Eileen (Walter) Osenbaugh of Greencastle, PA, Margaret Ellen “Margie” (Paul) Higgins of Niceville, FL, Johannah Wright of New Martinsville, Jon Curtis (Charlene) Wood of Hernando, FL, and Sarah Diane (Beau) Crow of New Martinsville; several nieces, nephews and cousins from various states including a special nephew Stanley (Cathy) Toothman Jr. of Mannington and special niece Renee (John) Kissella of Lumberport; and her special friends Shirley Walker and Carol Liller.
Sylvia had worked for Westinghouse and then worked for and retired from the Pantry Store in Mannington. She was a member of the Highland Church and enjoyed reading in her spare time.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 5-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, July 9, 2022 beginning at 11:00am with Pastor David Spears officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery.
