Thomas Zemonick, 91 of Mannington, WV died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Fairmont. He was born October 16, 1918 at Four States, WV a son of the late John and Maria Bergell Zemonick.
He is survived by three nephews, Michael and John Zemonick both of Plum Run, Mannington and Robert Zemonick of Fairmont. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Komajda Zemonick; three brothers, Frank, Albert and August Zemonick; one sister, Anna Bjaloncik; nephew Gary Zemonick and great nephew, Michael Paul Zemonick.
Tom was a 1937 graduate of Monongah High School. After graduation he moved to Detroit, Michigan where he graduated from the Walsh Business Institute of Accounting. He then served his country with the U.S. Army in World War II. After the war he was employed by General Motors Corp. as an accountant until his retirement in 1974. In 2002 he moved back to West Virginia.
At the request of the deceased he will be cremated. There will be no funeral home visitation. His cremains will be buried at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan beside his wife. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington is in charge of arrangements.
I just found this obit. I am sorry to hear he passed on. His sister Anna was my Aunt. I am the daughter of Joseph and Edna Bjaloncik ( both deceased ).
