Our condolences are extended to the family and friends of Twila Marie Burton, age 71, of Maysville, WV, and formerly of Marion County, WV, who went to be with our Lord on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Health Park Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL. She was born on February 8, 1949, in Rachel, WV, the daughter of the late W.J. "Pete" and Mary Ellen (Covey) Morgan. On July 20, 2002, Twila married David James Burton, who survives in Maysville, WV.

Mrs. Burton was a 1967 graduate of Mannington High School. She had worked at Pendleton Community Bank, Pendleton Nursing Home, ALCAN Aluminum Products, and she retired in 1998 from Monongahela Power Company and in 2005 from Jackson-Hewitt Attorney at Law as a Legal Assistant. Twila was a member of Crossway Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, FL, Harmony Baptist Church in Maysville, WV (where she was a member of the choir and served as Secretary), and the Petersburg Lions Club.

In addition to her husband, Twila is survived by: 2 sons, Morgan M. Basagic (Jessica) of Franklin, WV, Neil J. Basagic (Taylor Yokum) of Petersburg, WV; 2 step sons, David Burton, Jr. and Michael Burton, both of New Jersey; 2 sisters, April Morgan (Stephen Cunnion) of Collingswood, NJ, Billie Jean Abels of Fairmont, WV; a brother, Charles Neil “Ike” Morgan (Kathy) of Battle Creek, MI; 2 grandchildren, Bryce and Tinley Basagic; and several nieces and nephews.

The family appreciates the community support and would love to visit with each of you as you pay your respects, however, due to COVID restrictions, they are prohibited from doing so at this time at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Friends are welcome to pay their respects at their leisure at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV, on Friday, December 18, 2020, 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 20, 2020, 12-2 PM, at the Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Gary Crislip officiating. Interment will be in View Point Cemetery, Mannington, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, POB 205, Maysville, WV 26833. As we continue to recognize attending services during the COVID-19 situation may not be in the best interest for some, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
