Willard Francis Shreve, 65 of Mannington, WV, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Fairmont General Hospital. He was born July 21, 1947 in Wetzel County, WV, a son of the late Francis Shreve and Mildred Sycoc Shreve.
He is survived by his four children, Betsey Rogers of Farmington, WV, Joseph Rogers of Rymer, WV, Jimmy Shreve of Ohio, and Candy Shreve of Idaho; several grandchildren; significant-other, Patty Rogers of Mannington; one sister, Melinda Lazeer of Fairmont; one brother, Ivan Shreve; several nieces, nephews.
Willard enjoyed watching TV, cutting firewood and having cookouts.
Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow, in the funeral home, at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Everett Shreve, D.D. officiating. I just wanted to let you know that my heart is as heavy as yours and I ALWAYS considered him as family. I ALWAYS enjoyed the 4th of July because he was ALWAYS excited about having a cook out and he got to cook. He took care of Pappy and even though they had a misunderstanding he was still a part of my FAMILY...and there will be a piece of my heart missing...I know he is in a better place, but I guess I'm selfish because I wasn't ready to see him leave unexpectly. It was a total shock to me, but God knows BEST and ONLY takes BEST.. Willard I'll miss you and your cook outs and FAMILY time.
Willard dedicated his life giving to and helping others. What an amazing legacy to leave behind. He will be sadly missed. May the Lord place his hands of comfort around all who knew and loved him.
