William David Campbell, age 75 of Metz, WV passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at West Virginia Hospice Caring Center in Elkins. He was born December 30, 1945 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Thomas Campbell and Ruby Katherine Hawkins Campbell.
He is survived by his former wife, Marsha Butler of Fairmont; two daughters, Sheila Marie Campbell of Mannington, and Michelle Reed of Grafton; two grandchildren, Kody Reed and Amber Reed, both of Grafton; one great-granddaughter, Serenity Reed of Grafton; four siblings, Gary Lee Campbell of Mannington, Evelyn Ruth Mayo of Mannington, Betty Jewel Williams of Mannington, and Bentley Clyde Campbell of Grantown, WV; his companion, Leslie Batson of Metz; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters.
William was a United States Army Veteran. He was a diesel mechanic for most of his life having worked at Blacksville #2 in Wana. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
There will be no public visitation or funeral services as private services will be held for the family at their convenience with cremation to follow. For those attending the private services, as we continue to recognize attending services during the Covid-19 situation may not be in the best interest for some, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
