Wilmer Waitman Stewart, Jr., 59, of Buckhannon, formerly of Mannington, died Friday, September 1, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 7, 1957 in Fairmont, a son of the late Wilmer Waitman Stewart, Sr. and Mabel Sophronia White Stewart.
Wilmer is survived by his daughter, Samantha Waitman Stewart Efaw, 2 sons, Michael Wilmer Waitman Stewart and Phillip Andrew Waitman Stewart, all of Salt Lick, Mannington. Three grandchildren, Remington Efaw, Derenger Efaw and Hunter Shelosky. He is also survived by the mother of his children, LaDonna Kay Stewart, of Salt Lick, Mannington.
In addition to his parents, Wilmer was preceded in death by a daughter, LaDonna JoAnn Stewart..
Wilmer was employed at Consolidated Coal Co. as an equipment operator, retiring from Loveridge #22 Mine and was a member of the UMWA. He was an avid ham radio operator. Wilmer was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Family and friends will be received at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 with Branch President Bill Foley officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. So sorry to hear of Buster's passing. So many of my childhood memories are of him when visiting Granny and Pop. I remember him teaching me about his ham radio and sitting with him as he talked to people all over the country. Our deep condolences to you.

My deep sympathy to Buster's family. Although we lost touch over the years, he is a dear part of my early memories of time spent in the Fairmont area.
