Alfred Franklin “Frank” Tapp, age 83, of Mannington, WV passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Pierpont Center in Fairmont, WV. He was born November 14, 1931 in Mannington, WV the son of the late Charles and Pearl Waters Tapp.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Rosemary Tapp of San Francisco, CA, Norma Rittenhouse and husband Stanley of Fairmont, WV and Vanessa VanGilder and husband Karl of Charleston, WV; grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Melissa Rittenhouse of Columbus, IN, Katie and James Milhoan of S. Charleston, WV, Rachel and Jason Stoneking of Friendly, WV, Brian and Mary Rittenhouse of Simpsonville, SC; great-grandchildren, Nora and Angsel Rittenhouse of Columbus, IN and Arah Stoneking of Friendly, WV; siblings, John “Bud” Tapp of Massillon, OH, Lena McMurray of Pittsburg, PA, Betty Jean “Peggy” Cain of Fairmont, WV and Robert “Bob” Tapp of Monroe, NC.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Tapp who died in 1985; siblings, Helen Tapp Rush, Charles Tapp, Jr., Albert “Pete” Tapp and Barbara Tapp Moore.
Frank retired from Phillips Tool Co. in Mannington. After retirement, he owned and operated his own Construction Company in the area. He was an avid gardener. He was a 1950 graduate of Mannington High School.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St. Mannington on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 2-4:00pm and 6-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Hal Hevener officiating. Burial will be in Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
