Dorothy Dalean Hendershot, age 83 of Camp Road, Mannington, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born December 28, 1941 on Glade Fork, a daughter of the late Odis Ross and Connie May Hays Martin.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Jackie (James) Gill of Mannington, and Becky (Gary) Patterson of New Cumberland, WV. She was loved by thirteen grandchildren, Leeanna, Daniel, Brian, April, Nicole, Jason, Emily, Will, Cody, Jackson, Jona, Taylor and Casey, as well as many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Bob (Ethel) Martin of Rymer, Wayne (Julie) Martin of Seattle, WA, Don Martin of Ice’s Run, Fairmont and one sister, Charolotte Kuhn of Burton.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick “Jack” Hendershot on January 10, 2008, two daughters, Deborah Mafield and Jenny Jarvis, her son Billy Ross Hendershot, two grandchildren, Ramsey Congo and Jamie McClendon, three brothers, Denzil, Calvin and Ivan Martin and two sisters, Viola Jean Hill and Alice Reed.
Dorothy was a homemaker and had previously worked for Pierson Security as a guard at Consolidation Coal Company. She enjoyed quilting, fishing and gardening. Dorothy was a member of The Dents Run Baptist Church.
Family and friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home in Mannington on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 9:30 am with Paster Doug Cyphers officiating. Burial will follow at the Greene Cemetery on Dents Run, Mannington.
