E. Wayne DeVaul

E. Wayne DeVaul, 87 of Valencia, PA and formerly of Mannington, WV passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at North Hills Passavant Hospital UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA.  He was born September 6, 1922 at Antioch, Ohio, a son of the late Chester Arthur and Ruth Huffman DeVaul.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jim Wilhelm of Bridgeport, WV and Valencia, PA, and son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lisa DeVaul of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren, Andrew and Stephanie Wilhelm, Brianna DeVaul and Margeaux DeVaul.; one sister, Deronda VanVorrhis of Rosewell, Georgia, and a sister-in-law, Jean Hunter of Mannington.

In addition to his parents, Mr. DeVaul was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee DeVaul who died February 11, 2003; one grandson, Daniel Wilhelm; three brothers, Kingston DeVaul, John (Gary) DeVaul and Chester (Bud) DeVaul, and one sister, Herriott Dunigan.

Mr. DeVaul was a graduate of Mannington High School Class of 1942.  He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, 5th Infantry Division serving in the European Theatre.  He received the Bronze Star with one Bronze Cluster, and the Combat Infantry Badge.  He also served in the European-African Middle Eastern Campaign and received a medal with one silver service star.  Mr DeVaul was a active member of the First Christian Church in Mannington where he served as an Elder.  He was employed at Longstreth Motors for over 50 years.

Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV  on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Lynn White officiating.  Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
