William Arthur Delaney, 82 of Campbells Run, Metz, WV passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born November 4, 1927 at St Leo, WV a son of the late Oakle and Georgia Ellen Ornduff Delaney.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Genetta Jewell McVicker Delaney; two daughters, Barbara Smith and husband Marshall of Fairmont, WV, Beverly Bowers and husband Gary of Mannington, WV; one son Michael Delaney and wife Tina of Mannington; four grandchildren, Amber Hunter and husband Chris of Charleston, WV, Adam Bowers and wife Stacy of Fairmont, WV, Brent Dunham and wife Cindy of Fairmont, WV and G. Scott Delaney of Mannington; two great-grandsons, Mason Ray Dunham and Paxton Samuel Hunter; one sister, Rosalie Straight and husband Glenn of Mannington, WV; four brothers, Jack Delaney and wife Patty of Burton, WV, Leo Delaney and wife Elva of Metz, WV, Charles Delaney and wife Margie of Texas and Kenneth Delaney and wife Linda of Colorado.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Delbert Delaney and wife Gilberta.
Mr. Delaney was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from the Marion County Board of Education where he was employed at the Marion County Technical Center. He was a Methodist by Faith.
Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 2-9 P.M. and on Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Donald Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
