John Herbert Melvin, 69 of Smithfield, WV and Chesterfield, VA passed away Friday, August 8, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Melvin, and brother David Timothy Melvin and his wife Tina.
John is survived by his wife of 38 years Pamela Melvin, his daughter Nicole Melvin, and three siblings, Carol Rodriguez, Michael Melvin (Pamela) and Cheryl Stinson.
Stella Covey Heldreth Lovett, 94 of Metz, WV gained her angel wings and went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2025, at home with her family at her side. She was born December 22, 1930 in Kilarm, WV, the 11th of 12 children born to Jerry H. Covey and Mary Jane (Mollie) Underwood Covey.
Brenda Lee Hamrick, age 71 of Wyatt Rd., Mannington, WV passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Pierpont Center on the Fairmont Campus. She was born August 11, 1954 in Brockton, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Norman Bernard Ibbitson and Alice May Nickerson Ibbitson.
Tommy Bernard “Skinny” Hamrick, age 88 of Odells Knob, Mannington, WV passed away July 27, 2025 at WVU Fairmont Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1936 in Diana, WV a son of the late Lacy Franklin Hamrick and Zomie Gladys Smith Hamrick.
Dolan Dwight Toothman, age 91 of Plum Run, WV passed peacefully at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg on Saturday, July 26, 2025 following a brief stay at this fine facility. He was born on Plum Run, February 8, 1934 to the late Clovis C. Toothman and Docia Hamilton Toothman Jones. Dolan was also preceded in death by his step-father Albert F.
Carol Faye Brown, age 80, of Mannington, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the home of her son, Lee Brown. She was born February 10, 1945 on Bices Run in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Robert Wood Lucas and Isabelle Harris Lucas.
Ronald R. Dray, 79, of Carrollton, passed away peacefully at his home on July 13, 2025, with his family by his side. Born April 22, 1946, in Carrollton, he was a son of the late Todd and Glendora Davis Dray.
Bessie Louise Keener, age 68 of Mannington, WV passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born July 21, 1956 in Berea, OH a daughter of the late Wesley Burle Williams and Nancy Leehooman Williams.
Arnold L. Efaw, of Mannington passed away peacefully at Fairmont Medical Center on July 9, 2025. He was born February 8, 1934 a son of the late Donald B. "Buster" Efaw and Nellie B. Efaw.
Rex David Wright, age 66 of Fairview, WV passed away July 9, 2025 at his residence. He was born January 21, 1959 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Herbert Wright and Willa Jean Barr Wright.
